Nice post as usual Matt!
I liked the flash player timeline overview, but you seem to have skipped the FlashLite version, shipping to more than 1 billion devices, was this not worth milestone to mention ?

From the point of view of the competition today around "large screen" web devices and innovation Flash Lite isn't all that interesting - while it shipped in volume, the only large ecosystem that was created was in Japan - in most other regions Flash Lite jumped very quickly through the versions to align with Flash Player 7, and support YouTube and video - so with the transition to OSP, and the alignment of Flash desktop + Flash embedded the brief, 1bn unit sojourn into the mobile space doesn't have all that much impact on what happens next.

It's a strange world when shipping 1bn of something doesn't help your next step significantly!
